"Flambeau d'Or Award to the memory of Antonio Spallino"
"Panathlon International - Flambeau d'Or" Award is established by Panathlon International; its aim is to contribute in asserting sport’s ethical and cultural values through public recognition of top sporting personalities who honoured them, at international level, with their behaviour and actions.
The Prize is normally delivered every four years.
The Award is delivered to one (maximum two at the discretion of the Awarding Committee) individual preferably from different countries, for the following sectors:
a) promotion: diffusion of sport, intended as a tool for an individual’s full development, for constant self-improvement, for favouring awareness and understanding of diversities, friendship among sportspeople all around the world;
b) organisation: responsibility and organisation of world sporting events, while observing and enhancing the ideals reported in article 1 of the present Regulation;
c) culture: preparation and implementation of cultural activities related to the world of sport, to the diffusion of the panathletic ideals, and to the youth sports education.
The Award is consisting in an artistic trophy featuring the Olympic flame.
