Panathlon International is committed to the health of our seas

On Tuesday 11th December 2019, President Pierre Zappelli together with Once Ocean's Executive Vice-President and legal representative, Dr. Riccardo Bonadeo signed a Collaboration Agreement in which Panathlon commits not only to sign but to collaborate for the dissemination of the "Charta Smeralda": an ethical code that aims to raise awareness of public opinion and all operators to address the most pressing problems of the oceans and marine and coastal ecosystems and which aims to define practical and  immediate  policy areas focused on problem solving.

The "Charta Smeralda" concerns those persons who live the sea for sport and passion, the lovers of the sea and the structures promoting and supporting activity.

Panathlon International, which is an international movement with the aim of affirming the sporting ideal and its ethical and cultural values as an instrument of formation and elevation of the person, solidarity and peace between men and peoples, could not remain indifferent to this initiative.

Thus was born the idea, promoted by the Club of Mestre and the Governor of the Venetian Area, to sign an agreement to collaborate to protect our Seas and Oceans, mothers and cradles of our Planet and our life and of those sports activities carried out within them.  

A truly important initiative focused on raising awareness of the current situation and of the risks that our marine and coastal ecosystem runs, an environment on which our survival depends. Rapallo, seat of Panathlon International, but also many other cities and harbour around the world, have already had the demonstration of the violence and enormous damages that ecosystem imbalances can cause.

And we're just getting started.

Panathlon International’s antenna in Brussels was successfully represented at different events organized by the EU DG Sport. 

As the objective of P.I. is to develop a regular participation of Panathlon and Panathlon members into the development of ethical values in sport at an international level it is the aim and role of IB member Paul Standaert to focus on the European level. 

Mr. Standaert was invited to the meeting of EU Expert Group on Integrity in Sofia, Bulgari on 12 and 13 November 2019.

Members of this group are international experts in the field of the struggle against Sport manipulation and match fixing. The Bulgarian Ministry (Mrs. Racheva -Slavkova Director Eu programmes), hosted the meeting and welcomed 

Counties and Governments of EU states Denmark, Finland, Slovakia, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Malta, Hungary, Lithuania, Estland, Netherlands and more participated.

National and International organizations are invited to the Expert Group as observer and are welcome to share experiences and insights on these topics.

Observers represented sport unions, Interpol, SIGA, UNODC, ENGSO, Digital Sport Rights, FIFA, UEFA, International Betting Integrity Association and also Panathlon.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Le Losteque Head of the EU unit Sport. He expressed the great interest of EU to the topic of good governance and match fixing and promotes applications to Erasmus + projects in the framework of the combat against match fixing.

For 2019 only 7 applications on the 260 granted are based on anti-match fixing.

Therefor EU calls for new projects on the topic. The next deadline for 2020 application is April. 

Panathlon International is a collaborating partner in a 2019 project EPOSM, a initiative of the University of Gent in collaboration with the universities of Loughborough (UK), Lausanne (CH), Utrecht(NL), and  also IRIS (FR) VMIS (Austria) Stichting CSVF (NL) The antenna of P.I. in Brussels will take care of the coordination for P.I.’s role and input in this project in collaboration and support of the Panathlon EU club.

In Sofia, M Standaert was able to represent Panathlon and to connect with the participants and specifically to representatives of Bulgari and Greece. Both expressed a sincere interest in Panathlon’s work and values, and they will study the possibility to start a Panathlon activity in their country.

Mr. Luciano Di Fonzo of EACEA reported the latest status about Erasmus + and shared some statistics on the evolution since 2014. 

2014 – 40 projects

2019 – 260 projects selected upon 700 applications, for a total grant of 55 million EURO. 

On the agenda of the meeting was an overview and status of the work realized by the expert group (already 4 meetings) It’s final report and recommendations is to be finalized in the next days.

On 30th of January 2020 EU will organize in Brussels an Erasmus+ Information day.

Panathlon International Vlaanderen honored Gold medalist on Uneven Bars Nina Derwael, Mama Marijke Lammens and her coach Marjorie Heuls for being a role model to children, parents and coaches.

Raymonda Verdyck, president of the GO! Top Sport Schools in Flanders handed over the award to gymnastic top talent Nina and accentuated the importance of good scholarship and education within adequate sport infrastructures. Mrs. Verdyck congratulated the double world champion for the exceptional way she realizes her ambitions in sport and doing so being a role model for young athletes.

Nina's mother, Mrs. Marijke Lammens received the Panathlon award out of the hands of Mrs. Sofie Bracke, alderman for sport of Gent. Mrs. Bracke pointed out the importance of a warm nest and the care of parents to lead children at early age into sport. But also, to support them through their success and disappointments. Parents, grandparents have an absolute important role by guiding children within a fair a respectful sport.

Mrs. Tanja Moens, representing the Ministry of Sport was happy to give the award to coach Marjorie Heuls. Mrs. Moens proudly represents Sport Vlaanderen but is also happy as for many years she is a member of the Panathlon Gent and even was former president of the organizing club.

Nina Derwael expressed her gratitude for the award, the first time she received one in Gent, the place where she studied and still trains. She is happy that she can share this Panathlon award with 2 strong ladies, her mother and coach.

Coach Marjorie wanted to share her award with all the people behind Nina's success. It is a team of experts and care givers that works hard to realize the success of Nina and the other gymnast of the country.

International President Pierre Zappelli congratulated all stakeholders in Flanders and the members of Panathlon Gent. Mr. Zappelli was happy to establish after 15 years that the Declaration of Panathlon still inspires people, athletes and sport management to strive for an ethical and respectful sport for all especially regarding to the children's rights in sport.

It was in Gent 2004 that the Panathlon Declaration was published. To be in Gent on this evening is fine moment to share our values and encourage all stakeholders to promote these values as much as possible on any level. 

Closing the award ceremony PhD Bram Constandt, postdoctoral researcher at the Gent University and board member of ICES (1°, commented his study (2) on the Management of ethics in Foot ballclubs. In his statement Dr Constandt underlined the positive effects of an ethical framework in football clubs as not only board members can be role models but even so coaches, and thus deliver a strong contribution to what he calls ‘an ethical climate' in clubs.

Il Panathlon Club Tigullio Chiavari riconosce a Simona Callo, Segretaria Generale del Panathlon International, il titolo di socia onoraria.

In una magnifica serata, nel corso della conviviale del Club che si è svolta in un grazioso locale del centro cittadino, il Panathlon Club Tigullio Chiavari ha conferito a Simona Callo, Segretaria Generale del Panathlon International  il titolo di socia onoraria e ha accolto come soci Marialuisa Pucci Borri e Marco Ricchini che per ragioni logistiche hanno chiesto il trasferimento dai loro Club di appartenenza al Club Tigullio.

La serata si è aperta con una entusiasmante testimonianza sportiva offerta da Alessia Marena di anni nove, recente vincitrice del Campionato Nazionale Allievi Gold livello 1 di ginnastica artistica e appartenente alla Pro Chiavari, gloriosa società sportiva di Chiavari.  Alessia è stata accompagnata dai genitori che hanno illustrato in un’atmosfera di grande familiarità come sono state scoperte le attitudini della figlia verso questo sport, gli indirizzi familiari, lo scenario futuro. In un periodo in cui i giovani abbandonano lo sport fisico per dedicarsi agli sport elettronici, questa testimonianza è stata di enorme interesse e di aiuto a comprendere le nobili motivazioni e i sentimenti di una campionessa “diversa”.

La serata è poi proseguita con la cerimonia di insediamento dei nuovi soci che con la loro esperienza umana e sportiva e con la loro lunga militanza nel Panathlon conferiranno al Club Tigullio ulteriore prestigio e motivazioni.

Tanti i premiati lo scorso fine settimana nel corso della festa dello Sport organizzata dal Panathlon Club di Ozieri, che ogni due anni assegna premi agli sportivi locali.

In una gremita sala delle conferenze dell’Unione dei Comuni, dove quest’anno le società sportive locali si sono riunite anche per siglare un protocollo di intesa per la sostenibilità ambientale e il plastic free nei campi da gioco, il sodalizio ha assegnato vari riconoscimenti sulla base delle numerose segnalazioni ricevute.

Precedute dalla lettura delle motivazioni da parte delle speaker Rossana Boe, Lucia Iacomino e Daniela Scardellino, le premiazioni hanno visto succedersi sul palco per il premio alla carriera Miuccio Chirigoni, categoria giudici di gara, arbitro di calcio e giudice di gara nazionale nel ciclismo, ed Ernesto Satta, categoria ciclismo; per il premio ai risultati Vittorio Ledda, danza sportiva, vincitore di recente di due titoli italiani, Mirko Ruta, plurivincitore nel ciclismo giovanile, Daniele Ledda, maestro e atleta nel karate, direttore della Asd Sandalia, e Luigi Usai, bronzo ai campionati italiani di nuoto paralimpico 50 metri stile libero; premio per l’attività sportiva Antonio Niedda, driver e istruttore di equitazione anche ai disabili, e Leonardo Ladu, gentleman ippica; una gran menzione è stata poi assegnata a Roberta ed Eleonora Pinna atlete nella danza sportiva paralimpica. Il premio Fair Play è andato a Cristina Resta, per la sua attività nel settore della danza sportiva, anche nel settore paralimpico, e per molte altre iniziative (2 suoi allievi parteciperanno a breve ai campionati di danza sportiva jazz) mentre il trofeo principale, il Premio Biennale Panathlon, è stato assegnato a Stefano Pisciottu, sport nautici, più volte preolimpionico e con all’attivo varie vittorie in regate internazionali nonché direttore di un circolo nautico.

La cerimonia ha visto anche la consegna di tre targhe alla memoria: a Pietro Terrosu, dirigente sportivo; Ciro Farace, giocatore e allenatore nel calcio; Tore Manca giocatore di calcio e fondatore della squadra amatoriale All Blacks

Panathlon e mondo della racchetta ancora una volta a braccetto nella diciannovesima edizione del Tennis Europe Junior Master, svoltasi a Reggio Calabria sui campi in terra battuta del glorioso Circolo "Rocco Polimeni". Una rassegna che ormai ha conquistato una sua precisa collocazione nel calendario internazionale, perchè rappresenta dal 2001 la maggiore passerella per i futuri talenti del vecchio Continente. In passato, infatti, ha consacrato stelle di prima grandezza come Rafael Nadal, Murray,  Zverev, Belinda Bencic, Jelena Ostapenko, Maria Sharapova. Alla fase finale, ospitata per la dodicesima volta nella città dello stretto, vi hanno partecipato 32 atleti tra i 14 e i 16 anni, in rappresentanza di venti Paesi Europei. 

Non è mancata la presenza della pattuglia azzurra, in un momento decisamente positivo per il tennis italiano con  Mariano Tammaro e Peter Buldorini, impegnati entrambi nel tabellone under 16. Non è andata benissimo per Tammaro, eliminato al primo turno, mentre Buldorini si è fermato in semifinale battuto dallo slovacco Peter Nad  (6/2, 4/6, 7/6), poi vincitore del torneo (dopo aver piegato in finale il croato Alen Bill con i parziali di 6/2, 7/5). 

Sempre in campo maschile,  tra gli under 14 netto il successo di un altro croato, Dino Prizmic, che ha piegato in finale il rumeno Coman (6/4, 7/5) prima testa di serie.

Tra le ragazze under 16, trionfo della russa Ksenia Zayteseva che in finale ha superato in tre set l'italo-svizzera Sebastiana Scilipoti e si è aggiudicata il Premio dell'area 8 del Panathlon, consegnato dal Governatore Antonio Laganà. Il torneo riservato alle atlete under 14 ha incoronato Petra Marcinko (Croazia), vincitrice in due set su Amelie Smejkalova della repubblica ceca. 

Il premio Fair Play del Panathlon Club di Reggio, è andato alla polacca Malwina Rowinska. Lo ha ricevuto dalle mani del presidente Tonino Raffa.  

Anticipato di una settimana rispetto al tradizionale appuntamento del terzo sabato di novembre, per il Panathlon di Como è arrivato uno dei momenti più importanti della stagione, ovvero la giornata internazionale del Fair Play, con la consegna dei tre riconoscimenti per il 2019.

Sabato 9 novembre, dalle ore 11:00, nella prestigiosa cornice di Villa del Grumello, saranno insigniti Tullio Abbate – campione e costruttore di motonautica - con il premio alla carriera “Antonio Spallino”, Roberta Amadeo – vincitrice del titolo di campionessa del mondo di handbike - con quello alla promozione “Filippo Saladanna”e Marco Peloso – calciatore dell’Ardita Como – per il gesto “Gabriele Coduri de Cartosio”.

Sportförderungspreis 2019 an Fabienne Wohlwend

Der Panathlon-Club Fürstentum Liechtenstein (PCFL) hat bereits zum dreizehnten Mal den Sportförderungspreis an einen Nachwuchssportler in Liechtenstein vergeben. Preisträgerin 2019 ist Fabienne Wohlwend.

Informationen zur Preisträgerin

Fabienne Wohlwend, Jahrgang 1997, startete 2016 ihre Rennsportkarriere in der italienischen Formel-4-Meisterschaft und erreichte als bestes Resultat Rang 11 im letzten Rennen der Saison in Monza; nachdem sie zuvor sehr erfolgreich im internationalen Kartsport unterwegs war. 2017 nahm sie an der europäischen Ferrari-Challenge sowie beim Audi Sport TT-Cup teil. Mit dem Ferrari hat sie zwei Pole-Positionen, vier Podestplätze und einen Rennsieg in Imola erzielt und ist somit die erste Frau, die ein Rennen der Ferrari Challenge gewinnen konnte. 2018 hat sie bei der Ferrari-Challenge Trofeo Pirelli drei der vierzehn Rennen gewonnen. Zudem gewann sie das Finale der Pro-Am-Klasse und konnte sich als erste „Weltmeisterin“  in der Klasse AM sowie als „Vize-Europameisterin“ feiern lassen. 2019 hat sich Fabienne für die WSeries (Formel 3 Meisterschaft für Frauen) qualifiziert und konnte mit der Poleposition und Platz 3 in Misano überzeugen und belegte den 6. Gesamtrang. Zudem absolvierte sie aufgrund Teminkollisionen nur 3 von 7 Rennen in der Ferrari Challenge. Am Weltfinale in Mugello belegte sie den 4. Gesamtrang in der Profi- Kategorie. 

Im September 2019 hat Fabienne entschieden, sich voll auf den professionellen Rennsport zu konzentrieren. 

Ziele

Erneute Teilnahme an der WSeries sowie an der europäischen Ferrari Challenge. Zudem sind einzelne Langstreckenrennen im Ferrari GT3 geplant.

En el marco de una grata velada se llevó a cabo el martes 23 de octubre, en la ciudad de Portoviejo, la ceremonia de posesión del Panathlon Club de Portoviejo, la que dio inicio a las 19h30, bajo la dirección del Presidente de Panathlon International - Distrito Ecuador, Ec. Danilo Carrera. Al evento asistieron también directivos y miembros del Panathlon Club Guayaquil y del recientemente creado Panathlon Club Portoviejo, junto con invitados especiales. 

EL Secretario de Panathlon – Distrito Ecuador, Ab. Arturo Gamboa,  hizo las presentaciones de rigor y anunció el Orden del Día, dando paso de inmediato a la intervención del Presidente de Panathlon International - Distrito Ecuador, quien realizó un breve recuento de lo que es el Movimiento Panathlon en el mundo y en el Ecuador, relievando los principios que lo inspiran y su rol en la sociedad. Hizo una invitación a los asistentes a aportar a su crecimiento en el país,   a trabajar muy cerca del deporte y de la comunidad. Destacó el gran apoyo prestado por la Sra.
