Year 2020
IIn this very special year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, events were suspended, postponed, and cancelled. However, the institutional activity did not come to a halt, with video conferences of the institutional bodies and smart working for the General Secretariat. A large number of clubs organised video conferences to cover topics that are usually dealt with during meeting or conferences. In this field, the most active clubs are undoubtedly those in Latin America. The 2020 Tokyo Olympics have been postponed to 2021, with imaginable damage to the organisers and the athletes. The Alpine Skiing World Cup Finals that were to be held in Cortina d'Ampezzo have also been cancelled, as have many events in all sports disciplines, Olympic and non-Olympic.
• 9 - 22 January 2020 - Lausanne - Olympic Winter Youth Games. P.I. is present with its own stand in the centre of the old town together with all the installations of the other organisations and Federations. Great visibility given by the many people who asked and obtained information about Panathlon and great participation of Swiss Clubs. The Secretary General Simona Callo was present. On the occasion were delivered the prizes to the two winners of the first edition of the International Literary Competition.
- Due to the pandemic, the PI magazine was not sent by post, but only published online in the 6 P.I. languages
- The 1st Photo Contest - Panathlon International Sport and COVID19- pandemic is launched. Inspired by the pandemic and the forced cessation of all activities.
• 7 September 2020 – The World Fair Play Day is born. Secretary General Simona Callo attended the official ceremony
• 17 - 18 October 2020 - Osimo (Ancona) - General Elective Assembly. Unique candidate for the presidency is Pierre Zappelli, who is going for his second mandate.
