The Panathlon Club of Zug visits P.I. International Headquarters

Friday 11th May 2018 a delegation of Panathletes of Panathlon Club Zug visited P.I. International Headquarters at Villa Queirolo in Rapallo.
The 19th edition of the PCU University Games (futsal, basketball and volleyball) kicked off on April 25, and finished on April 27, 2018 in the northern Belgian city of Antwerp with the participation of more than 450 athletes.
These Games are organized by the Association of Universities of Antwerp and approved by the PCU Committee in order to promote ethics in sports, Fair Play and friendship.
P.I. International President Pierre Zappelli attended, on Thursday April 26th , the convivial dinner of the "Yerun Sport Day"- Network of Young European Research Universities (Yerun), whose aim is to strengthen and develop cooperation in the field of scientific research, academic education and service to society among a group of leading universities of Europe. He also attended the Futsal semi-final match, held on Friday April 27th, between the Selected students of Iran (Champion of 2016) and the Catalan National University Selection.
A bridge leading towards Great Britain
On Thursday April, 12, 2018, a meeting took place in Stansted, between a delegation of the Panathlon Challenge Foundation and the International President Mr. Pierre Zappelli together with Mrs. Simona Callo, General Secretary of Panathlon International in a very relaxed and collaborative atmosphere.
Both Associations not only have in common the name, but share the same goals and objectives. From this perspective, the decision was reached to prepare a Memorandum of Understanding, in order to cooperate, recognize each other, organize joint events and participate actively in various sporting events of the individual Associations. The Panathlon Challenge Foundation is engaged in the organization of sporting events for the disabled in Britain.
There had been previous contacts between the Clubs of Milan and the Person in charge, but the time was not ripe enough, thus the Club of London never took off. The present Management listened closely to what expressed by President Zappelli ,welcomed and supported Panathlon International’s Philosophy, its Ethical Charts and Values. In this respect a first step has been made.
The main aim is to prepare a partnership agreement to submit to the President’s Committee and Panathlon International’s International Board so as to proceed by signing the same, hoping that it will enable us to set up a club in Great Britain.

After two years District President Giancarlo Dionisio has resigned from his office for personal reasons.
The District Committee has developed a solution for the remaining years and has proposed as new ad-interim President Mr. Bernhard Segesser.

The work of the District Presidents Committee, chaired by International President Pierre Zappelli, started at the Pompidou e Sadate del Mercure Hotel President, with the collaboration of the President’s Committee.
An intense working day that saw engaged the new District Presidents discussing future projects aimed at increasing the expansion of Panathlon in the world.
The meeting participants were: Gerti GAISBACHER (District Auustria); Paul STANDAERT (representing District Belgium); Pedro Roberto PEREIRA DE SOUZA (District Brazil); Eduardo GUROVICH (District Chile); Danilo Edoardo Carrera DROUET (District Ecuador); Bernard THèVENET (District France); Federico GHIO (District Italy); Socorro M. SAMANIEGO GARZA (District Mexico); Luis Moreno GONZALES (District Perù); Ennio CHIAVOLINI (Supranational District); Sergio ROMANESCHI (representing Switzerland with associated Club Fürstentum Liechtenstein); Ricardo Perez GUADAGNA (District Uruguay with associated clubs of Asunción Paraguay)

Le Président Giancarlo Dionisio a décidé de quitter après 2 ans la présidence du District pour des raisons privées.
Le Comité du District a trouvé une solution pour les deux ans restants et propose comme nouveau Président ad-intérim Bernhard Segesser.
